The Do’s And Don’ts Of ScreenshotsFiled Under: Uncategorized
The ability to capture screenshots with the keyboard on a computer is a nice feature that has been around for years on computers. It works well in various scenarios, such as being used in troubleshooting or showing someone something that happened on your computer. However, there are some things to keep in mind before taking your screenshot that will help you avoid common mistakes.
1. Capture only what’s needed. This will reduce file size and eliminate anything in the background that is irrelevant. To capture merely the window you’re working with, you can press AltPrint Screen. Open up an image creation/editing program to save the window screenshot.
2. Make sure there isn’t any confidential data visible on the screen. Many people make the mistake of trying to take a screenshot of their screen and accidentally capturing other elements (such as name, address, phone number or even credit card information). Check the screenshot before showing to others.
3. Lastly, remember to save your screenshot in JPG format. This will cut down on file size and make it easy to transfer, upload, or download the file. If detail and quality are musts, consider saving in PNG format to maintain these attributes while working with a decent file size.
